📖How to Use the Scientific Calculator /

English

This is a full-featured scientific calculator that runs entirely in your browser. It supports basic arithmetic, trigonometry, logarithms, exponentials, powers, roots, factorials, percent, and memory operations. Here is a detailed step-by-step guide:

  1. Choose your angle mode (DEG / RAD / GRAD):
    • DEG (Degrees): Use this when your angle is in degrees, e.g., sin(30) = 0.5. This is the default mode and used in most school/college problems.
    • RAD (Radians): Use this for calculus and advanced math where angles are in radians, e.g., sin(π/2) = 1.
    • GRAD (Gradians): Used in some surveying and engineering fields. 100 gradians = 90 degrees.
    • Click any of these buttons at the top-left of the calculator. The active mode is shown by a highlighted pill and also on the display badge.
  2. Enter your expression:
    • Click the numeric buttons (0–9) or press the numbers on your physical keyboard.
    • Use + − × ÷ for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    • Press ( and ) for grouping. The calculator automatically closes any unclosed parentheses when you press =.
    • The expression you are typing appears in the small top line of the display. The current preview result appears in the big bottom line, updating live as you type.
  3. Use trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan):
    • Click sin, cos, or tan to insert the function with an opening parenthesis.
    • Enter the angle and close the parenthesis, or leave it open — it will auto-close on =.
    • The angle is interpreted in your selected mode (DEG/RAD/GRAD).
  4. Access inverse trigonometric functions (sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹):
    • Click the 2nd button (top-right or row-2 left) to toggle the "second function" mode.
    • Now the sin/cos/tan buttons become sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹. Click the desired one and enter the value.
    • The 2nd mode automatically resets after one use, so you don't accidentally press 2nd twice.
  5. Use logarithms and exponentials:
    • ln = natural logarithm (base e). E.g., ln(e) = 1.
    • log = common logarithm (base 10). E.g., log(100) = 2.
    • With 2nd active, ln becomes eˣ (e raised to x) and log becomes 10ˣ (10 raised to x).
  6. Powers, roots, and reciprocals:
    • x² squares the previous number. With 2nd active, it becomes x³ (cube).
    • xʸ raises a number to any power: enter base, click xʸ, enter exponent. With 2nd active, it becomes ʸ√x (the y-th root of x).
    • √ takes the square root. With 2nd active, it becomes ∛ (cube root).
    • 1/x gives the reciprocal. With 2nd active, it becomes |x| (absolute value).
  7. Factorial (!) and percent (%):
    • n! calculates the factorial of a number, e.g., 5! = 120. It only works for non-negative integers up to 170.
    • With 2nd active, n! becomes %, which divides the previous number by 100. E.g., 50% = 0.5.
  8. Constants and special keys:
    • π inserts the value of Pi (3.14159...).
    • e inserts Euler's number (2.71828...).
    • ANS reuses your last calculated answer in a new expression.
    • ± flips the sign of the last number (positive ↔ negative).
  9. Memory functions (MC, MR, M+, M−, MS):
    • MS (Memory Store) saves the currently displayed value into memory.
    • MR (Memory Recall) inserts the stored memory value into your current expression.
    • M+ (Memory Add) adds the displayed value to the stored memory.
    • M− (Memory Subtract) subtracts the displayed value from the stored memory.
    • MC (Memory Clear) resets memory to zero.
    • When memory is non-zero, a small M badge appears in the display header.
  10. Calculate and view history:
    • Press = or hit Enter on your keyboard to calculate the final result.
    • The result appears in the big display and is added to your History.
    • Click the 🕘 history icon in the top bar to open the history panel.
    • Click any past calculation to load its result back into the input, then continue calculating.
    • Click Clear All in the history panel to wipe the history.
  11. Keyboard shortcuts (fast typing):
    • 0–9 → enter digits
    • + − * / → operators (note: * and / map to × and ÷)

(DEG / RAD / GRAD):
जैसे log(100) = 2।
